Strength Training

Strength Training is an essential part of any effective weight loss plan. The more muscle you have the more calories you are able to burn and consume in any given day. This is even more important for women who are at much higher risk for osteoporosis. Strength training helps to increase bone density to protect and aid during a fall or accident.

Stretching and Mobility

Stretching and mobility work is another area of utmost importance, but probably given the least amount of attention in most current work out programs today. Why would you chase strength and power if you do not have the ability to move without being in pain? This is one of my favorite components of exercise being a martial artist.  I start everyone off with a structured stretching and mobility program.
